Solo trip to Georgia

At the beginning of the month I took the Zabies & Harley, our fur baby, on a solo road trip to Georgia. An eight hour road trip turned into 10+ hours with torrential down pouring rain from a hurricane. The trip was relatively easy. The girls are amazing travelers and didn't complain unless they were hungry or needed to stretch their legs (and get their diaper changed). 

The trip started off rocky with a dead battery in my car resulting in me having to push my Yukon XL out of our garage since my guy works 45 minutes from home. Thankfully the girls just rolled with the punches of the day and made new friends at every stop!

Notice all of the stuff behind Kensington? I chose to load our stuff on the bench seat so Harley could have all of the back to stretch out and get comfy!

We celebrated my best friend's little boy's birthday while we were in town. I was so thankful that we were able to be there to celebrate him!

We had play dates with the girls' cousins, Emerson and Dylan.

We played at the park.

We got to love on the brand new baby goats in the front pasture at my parent's house. 

And climb the same fence that Mommy climbed as a little girl. 

The Zabies also helped their Pawpaw master the plumbing in the kitchen remodel.

Quinn has an obsession with Pawpaw's Harley. Dear Lord, help us!!

We had lots of family in and out all week but had a big cookout that was a huge hit with the girls.

One of my other Georgia bestie that I call LJ also came to our family cookout. 

It made my heart so happy to see these four together and to just enjoy the day with my sweet friend. 

These two! It's like a flash into our future. 

Josh joined us on Saturday and we celebrated my cousin's marriage... 

Had two year old melt downs...

Found humor in said meltdowns...

and thankfully didn't drop her on her head. 

It was a rough evening for these two. Thankfully they were super cute in the process. 

Zabeks Lately

It's been a while once again, y'all. We have been traveling non-stop. 

I have always loved traveling and we have always been known to keep the roads hot but, man, I'm whooped from our latest travels. 

Here is what we have been up to lately. 

We drove to Georgia to visit family and friends, mainly the latter, the Thursday before July 4th. 

We pulled my dad's box trailer back with us since we have had it literally since we moved to New York... Oops! Thanks for letting us borrow it Dad!

We spent July 4th at our dear friends and God Parents of the Zabies home. 

Traditionally we have always spent this holiday with them. It's the boys favorite get-together since they love to shoot off fireworks and will only do so on this holiday. 

I didn't get many photos that night.

 My phone died. 

Total fail on my part.

But here are a couple from the day!

The next weekend we spent it with all of the Zabeks for a 2nd Biennial Family Reunion in the Great Smoky Mountains. Honestly, we were nervous about it all being in one house for four days but it with without a hitch! I think everyone was pleasantly surprised. It was SO nice to spend time with some of our distant relatives, for them to meet and get to know our girls, and to have this gorgeous view daily.

This is a great example of how the Smokies got their name.

Our evenings were spent with views like this. 

There was a pool down the hill and it was much easier to just drive down so we piled all of the kiddos into our (new) car. I can't even believe we fit so many into our car. Before we could barely sit ourselves in our old car. 

Such sweet memories made.

After nap time we had a very upset Quinn. She didn't nap very long.
All she wanted was to be held and I was happy to do so!
Kensington insisted that I hold her too- so she could hold sister as well.
So stinkin' sweet!

They loved rocking in the rocking chairs and their Uncle Todd.

My guy insisted that we have this photo done of the Zabies and I love how it turned out!

The games in the cabin were on point! The kids and the adults loved them all!

This game went something like, "Hewow! Yeah! Bye Bye!" Over and over again in the cutest little voices you could ever imagine!

Our time with our family ended much too soon and we cannot wait for the next get-together.

We made a stop in Nashville at one of my favorite little burger spots- the Pharmacy.
It is a locals spot.
The burgers are to die for and they make their own fountain drinks.
I'm still dreaming of the orange cream soda. 

So there you have it. 

We have been as busy as bees and are so thankful to be home for a long while!

Long Weekend in Minnesota

Summer-time has me MIA from my blog many of days. We have been traveling, swimming, going to parks, visiting with family and enjoying this fleeting life with toddlers. 

Last week my guy was in Belgium for a work meeting, lucky dog!

The girls and I decided to head north to Minnesota to visit the Cottage aka Josh's Aunt, Uncle, cousin's and their home. 

This meant that I drove 8 hours by myself with twin toddlers. 

I started my day bright and early loading last minute items and drinking my Chai Tea Latte. 

We managed to only stop three times. 

Once for breakfast, a potty break and lunch. 

After lunch the Zabies watched Shrek and LOVED it! 

We turned them forward facing for the trip and I am so thankful that we did.

I could see their faces, give them snacks, and control to dvd player from the front so they didn't have to watch any one DVD over and over again because I couldn't reach to turn it off.

They could also see out of the window and loved seeing all of the wind mills along the way. 

Honestly, it was the best road trip. I could not have dreamed it would go better and I actually enjoyed it! 

The girls never cried, whined or complained! 

The road trip was so enjoyable that I look forward to many more girls trip with my duo!

We arrived to excited cousins just before supper time. 

Once we got to the cottage our days were filled with playing barefoot in the yard, swimming, napping, eating, riding four-wheelers, going on wagon rides, playing in the rain and eating lots of push-pops!

The adults spent their evenings chatting, reminiscing and playing cards! 

It was the best weekend!

Josh joined us on Friday and brought home these fresh Belgian Chocolates. 

I am not a huge fan of assorted candies but this box has been AMAZING!

Kensington and Quinn frequently ate their food and everyone else's too. 

I think they gained 5 pounds while we were gone! 

If you had food then they were your BFF. 

The Zabies loved spending time with their cousin Sydney.

My computer may or may not be telling me that the memory is full! Oops!
